Under the scope of a joint exchange initiative of the University
of Jordan and the Ruhr-University Bochum (GER), accomplished within the
framework of the DAAD’s “German Arab Transformation Program”, nine students
from the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism were enrolled in a study visit to
Germany for the period from Sept. 21st to Sept. 28th. The
group was accompanied by dr. FuadHourani, dr. FatmaMarii and dr. PatricKreuz. Entitled
“Cultural Resources Management in an international perspective: initiatives,
institutions and experiences”, the trip aimed at introducing the participants
to current issues and aspects related to cultural resources management and
conservation in Germany from the Paleolithic to the Industrial periods. The
group visited a series of archaeological and heritage places, infrastructures
and institutionsin relation to this field in Mayence, Cologne, Bochum, Essen,
Herne, Neandertal and Xanten. Students as well as professors participating to
this trip both enjoyed a fruitful visit and amazing experience.
