The
Department of Tourism Management at the School of Tourism and Archeology
organized a lecture on February 20, 2018 in the school premise. The lecture
highlighted Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) marketing strategies aiming at promoting
the Jordanian tourism assets internationally and developing adventure tourism
as a promising new tourism product in Jordan.
The lecture was presented by Mr. Hakim Tamimi; the director of adventure
tourism unit in JTB. The main themes addressed in the lecture were; the
significances of adventure tourism at national and international levels and the
JTB marketing strategies designed to promote adventure tourism as a unique
local product in the marketplace. The
variety of adventure tourism patterns in Jordan were also reported. The lecture
was moderated by the Head of Tourism Management Department Dr. Nour Al-okaily. The event was attended by the dean,
staff of the school, and crowd of students.
The event reflects the ongoing collaborative
activities between the Department of Tourism Management at the School of Tourism
and Archeology and JTB.
