A delegation from the Paul Getty Institute visits the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism

A delegation from the Paul Gitty Institute for the Conservation and Restoration of Antiquities in the United States visited the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan.

The delegation met with the Dean of the College, Dr. Nizar Al-Tarshan, and briefed them on the mechanism of the study program at the College. 

Head of the Department of Department of Cultural Resources Management and Conservation at the College, Dr. Ramadan Abdullah, talked about the study plans and programs offered to students and the mechanisms of their development to improve the teaching level of students.

The head of the department pointed out that one of the objectives of the college is to prepare the students in a practical way through mixing the theoretical side of the process.

Dr. Fouad Hourani gave a lecture and a presentation of the practical and field activities of the students, there was a discussion between the students and the delegation

The head of the American delegation said that the visit aims to evaluate the study program in the preservation of cultural heritage in Jordan.And the possibility of joint exchange in the development of study plans for the college and the Institute, as well as to give the practical side in the conservation of heritage, and to identify the problems of the teaching process and access to solutions to qualify students to work in government agencies to preserve heritage.

The delegation met with faculty members and students of the college to find out the possibility of bringing the program of conservation of cultural heritage in the college to the global level.

At the end of the visit, the delegation toured at the College, the Conservation and Restoration Laboratories, the Archaeological and Heritage Museum and the Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research and Laboratories.
