Dr. Abu Aamoud, a faculty member in the Department of Tourism Management, graduated from the University of New Mexico with outstanding achievements. His notable contributions began after obtaining his PhD in Economic Development and Tourism Economics.
Dr. Abu Aamoud excelled in his active role in developing academic programs and improving the facilities of the College of Archaeology and Tourism. He successfully attracted funding that contributed to the development of laboratories and equipment. His efforts also served as a focal point for enhancing tourism services in areas such as Ajloun and Umm Qais.
Since assuming the position of Assistant Dean for Museum Affairs, and Head of the Tourism Management Department, and Vice Dean, he has significantly contributed to improving museum performance and tourism management.
He received an award of recognition from the University of New Mexico as an Outstanding International Graduate for the year 2019, in appreciation of his continuous and outstanding efforts. This award is given once a year to one of the international graduates, recognizing their excellence and contributions post-graduation, and it was presented by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Environment Sciences, Dr. Rolando Flores.
