School of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan held a ceremony today, September 29, 2024, in honor of Professor Dr. Lutfi Khalil, recognizing his exceptional academic and scientific career filled with accomplishments. The event was attended by many faculty and administrative members.
Professor Lutfi Khalil, a professor in the Department of Cultural Resources Management and Conservation, has had a distinguished academic career that began with his Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology from the University of Jordan in 1972. He continued his studies in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Archaeological Materials Science from the Institute of Archaeology at the University of London. Throughout his decades-long career, Dr. Khalil has held various leadership positions, including Dean of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Jordan. He has contributed to numerous international and local research projects and is highly regarded for his scientific contributions in archaeological materials analysis and excavation.
This ceremony served as a tribute to Dr. Lutfi Khalil for his significant contributions to advancing scientific research in archaeology and enriching academic knowledge.
