Future Leaders in the Tourism Sector: Interactive Training Workshop at the School of Archaeology and Tourism

The Department of Tourism Management at the School of Archaeology and Tourism organized an interactive training workshop for its students in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University and Saqr Jordan Travel and Tourism Office. The workshop, titled "Future Leaders in the Tourism Sector," was attended by Prof. Dr. Ziad Alrawadieh, Dean of School of Archaeology and Tourism, Dr. Muna Al-Slaihat, Head of the Department, and academic supervisors for practical training Dr. Hussein Mohammed Ibrahim, Ms. Lubna Hijawi, Dr. Lama'a Al-Orainat, and Ms. Jumana Fakhouri, Administrative Assistant to the Dean. And From Yarmouk University, Mr. Zahir Al-Khasawneh, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Agreements, and Training, and Mr. Mohammad Jaba’ah, Practical Training Supervisor, were also present.

The workshop was held as part of the School's plans to motivate students towards learning and critical thinking, emphasizing the importance of continuous preparation to face labor market challenges. The School aims to provide advanced training programs and workshops that effectively qualify students.

Mr. Hussam Al-Haj Eid, Director of Domestic and Foreign Tourism at Saqr Jordan Office, facilitated the workshop, engaging students from both universities with a series of interactive questions. The competition resulted in a tie between the two teams, represented by student Mayada from the University of Jordan and student Masa from Yarmouk University.

At the end of the event, winners were honored by the Dean of the School of Archaeology and Tourism. Student Masa Marwan from Yarmouk University received a one-month training opportunity at Hilton Amman, while student Mayada Al-Rantisi from the University of Jordan was awarded a two-month training opportunity at Four Seasons Hotel. Additionally, Crowne Plaza Hotel offered a one-month training opportunity. Eighteen students from the Department of Tourism Management were also recognized for their outstanding final reports submitted during their practical training.
