"Abu Karki" opens the job fair today at School of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan.

This morning, the Acting President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Ashraf Abu Karki, inaugurated the job fair for the hospitality and tourism sector (hotels and restaurants), organized by School of Archaeology and Tourism in the presence of the School's advisory council members.

Abu Karki emphasized in his speech that the University of Jordan contributes significantly to the Jordanian economy, relying on its sustainability through early preparation of future employees, dedicated efforts, and commitment to excellence in education. It commits to its role in preparation, qualification, and development by producing specialized graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities necessary to serve all sectors. The university also ensures the students' readiness through networking with institutions and companies to provide opportunities and educate them about the market requirements in terms of skills and knowledge, training them to be ready for success after graduation.

On his part, the Dean of School of Archaeology and Tourism, Dr. Ziad al-Rawadieh, stated that the School provided an opportunity for participants from hotels and restaurants to meet with School's students, whether those studying in the School or university students in general. The aim is to introduce employers to them and the skills they have acquired, preparing them for training and employment in these institutions. He confirmed that the job fair reflects the importance of tourism and hospitality specializations given the volume of opportunities available in the job market.

The job fair aims to strengthen cooperation between the university as an institution graduating scientific and professional competencies and the activities of the tourism sector, leading to alignment between educational outputs and the labor market needs in terms of tourism and hospitality professions and specialties. This meets the needs of both parties and achieves the market's aspirations as a project aimed at enhancing the economic reality and contributing to solving the problems of poverty and unemployment.

Participating tourism and hospitality companies presented the available job opportunities and received employment applications, while students were informed about the available study programs, giving them the opportunity to focus on the areas needed by the job market. Finally, they expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the university and the School of Archaeology and Tourism for this significant and beneficial opportunity.
