Workshop on 'Archiving and Documentation Techniques for Archaeological Artifacts in Museums' for Students of the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism.

As part of the strategic plans aimed at developing the necessary skills for students of School of Archaeology and Tourism and preparing them for the job market, and within the framework of the series of workshops and training courses held at the School's museums, a workshop titled 'Archiving and Documentation Techniques for Archaeological Artifacts in Museums' was conducted on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The workshop was presented by Dr. Moath Al-fuqaha, the Curator of the Archaeological Museum. Participating students were introduced to the definition and importance of museum documentation, as well as the methods used in museum documentation and archiving. Discussions also covered agreements with public antiquities departments regarding the loan of archaeological artifacts, and how to interact with researchers and specialists to study archaeological pieces. Students also took a tour inside the museum exhibition hall to explore its contents and observe the process of documenting artifacts in display cabinets.

In conclusion, Dr. Al-fuqaha discussed the dedicated electronic program for archiving archaeological artifacts in the archaeological museum, along with a​ practical application.
