Success Stories 3: Dialogue with Graduates

In line with the University of Jordan's vision of caring for its graduates, stemming from His Majesty King Abdullah II's keen interest in addressing the youth, as when he addressed Jordanian youth saying, "Dear youth of Jordan, know that the future of the country is in your hands, and you are among its foremost creators. You bear this responsibility. Proceed in the march of construction, modernization, and prosperity. Jordan, all of Jordan, supports you in every step you take." The university has established frameworks for communication, motivation, and support to encourage graduates in their various professional fields.

On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, under the auspices of the Dean of the School represented by Dr. Khalid Al-Jubour, the Deputy Dean, and upon the invitation of Ms. Lubna Al-Hijawi, the Assistant Dean for Graduate Affairs and Quality, an event titled "Success Stories 3: Dialogue with Graduates" was organized by the Office of the Assistant Dean for Graduate Affairs and Quality at the  School of Archaeology and Tourism. This event hosted a group of distinguished graduates who completed their studies in the bachelor's and master's programs.

The ceremony began with the royal anthem, followed by recitations from the Holy Quran. Miss Hana Bani Atta, the Quality and Development Liaison Officer, opened the ceremony by welcoming the attendees. This was followed by a speech from the Deputy Dean, Dr. Khalid Al-Jubour, who welcomed the successful students, esteemed guests, and expressed his pride in hosting such an event to honor a group of students whose excellence transcends the university boundaries, becoming ambassadors for the college and the university in various positions and centers. Ms. Lubna Al-Hijawi, the Assistant Dean for Quality and Development, also welcomed the students and spoke about the importance of practical success after graduation and the university's goals in connecting with graduates and integrating them into their colleges.

The event began with the expected graduates, Mr. Saif Al-Din Omar and Ms. Aman Al-Hajjaj, interviewing the graduates. They started with graduates from the Department of Archaeology, Mr. Abdelkarim Al-Hibshan (who obtained a master's degree in 2012 and currently works at the French Institute for Oriental Studies IFBO), and Ms. Hanadi Al-Yazouri (who graduated in 2022, the first batch, and currently works in research projects at the college).

Then, graduates from the Department of Heritage Resource Management and Conservation, Ms. Shaima Al-Farajat (who graduated in 2020 and works at the Department of Antiquities in Ma'an in the field of restoration) and Ms. Muram Al-Mumani (who graduated in 2021 and works at the House of Representatives / King Abdullah II Fund for Development), followed by graduates from the Department of Tourism Management, Ms. Hala Al-Khashman (who graduated in 2018 and works at the Tourism Promotion Authority as Head of International Marketing and Events) and Mr. Abdullah Maqbool (who graduated in 2017 and currently works at the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature).

At the end of the event, Dr. Khalid Al-Jubour, the Deputy Dean, presented commemorative shields to the participants in appreciation of their efforts and excellence.

Special thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, especially the Quality and Development Office and the administrative staff at the faculty for their dedicated work.
