Business Collaboration

School of Archaeology and Tourism collaborates with Arab and foreign institutions and anyone connected to the field of archaeology, heritage, and tourism, divided into two categories: local and international institutions.

Local Institutions:

1. Department of Antiquities:

The cooperation with the Department of Antiquities, as a governmental institution concerned with promoting awareness and support for the importance of archaeological heritage and museum culture, aims to provide human and technical resources to maximize the utilization of Jordan's archaeological heritage. This enables the School to undertake archaeological excavation projects, surveys, and restoration projects throughout the kingdom, supporting students through training to refine their knowledge and skills for the job market. Additionally, it involves employing students after graduation in projects of the Department of Antiquities spread across all governorates of the kingdom.

2. Jordan Museum:

The cooperation between the Jordan Museum and the School of Archaeology and Tourism aims to conduct mutual visits to the archaeological and folk heritage museums for students of the Archaeology and Cultural Resource Management departments to familiarize themselves with modern museum display methods.

3. Local Jordanian Universities with Colleges in Archaeology and Tourism:

Collaboration with colleges such as the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University, the Queen Rania Institute of Tourism and Heritage at Hashemite University, the Department of Archaeology and Tourism at Mu'tah University, and the Petra College for Tourism and Antiquities at Al-Hussein University aims to exchange faculty members during sabbatical periods, share scientific and practical experiences in the field of excavations and archaeological surveys, and engage in joint research.

4. Travel Agencies and Hotels:

Collaboration with travel agencies (tour operators and travel agencies) and hotels, represented by the Tourism Management Department, aims to train students in tourism-related institutions such as travel agencies and hotels, totaling 400 training hours, to prepare them for the job market. Typically, outstanding students who have demonstrated competence during their training are hired.

International Institutions:

1. German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD):

The collaboration aims to exchange scientific visits for students from the School of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan to Germany and a group of German universities to Jordan. The project is fully funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

2. American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR):

The cooperation aims to hold seminars and lectures for faculty members and students from the School's three departments regarding the programs offered by the center and their initiatives to support academic research and collaborate in archaeological excavations, as well as workshops on how to apply for grants offered by the center to students.

3. Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL):
