School of Archaeology and Tourism congratulates its distinguished graduate, Osama Samawi, from the Department of Archaeology, on being awarded a PhD scholarship in Portugal, specializing in studies of the prehistoric Stone Age.
Professor Maysoon Al-Nahar, a faculty member in the Department of Archaeology, expressed her pride and happiness at this achievement, stating:
"I have worked for many years at the university, hoping that the impact of my work would show through one of my students. To see this student continue my path in doctoral studies on the Old Stone Age and specialize in flint tools—an extremely rare field in the Arab world and especially in Jordan—today, I see the light with one of my outstanding students receiving a PhD scholarship in Portugal."
She continued:
"A heartfelt congratulations to Osama Atef Samawi, who has been awarded a PhD scholarship at the Interdisciplinary Center for Archaeology and the Evolution of Human Behaviour (ICArEHB) at the University of Algarve, Portugal, supported by the European Research Council (ERC). We are always proud of you, Osama, and we eagerly look forward to your future academic achievements, God willing."
We congratulate Osama on this remarkable achievement and wish him a bright academic future. We also hope to see more of our students achieve the highest levels of academic excellence.
Congratulations, Osama! 👏🎉
