Workshop entitled “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”


The Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan, in collaboration with the University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, organized a workshop titled "Innovation and Entrepreneurship." The workshop was attended by a large number of students, as well as several faculty and administrative staff members.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Reem Al-Fayez, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

Professor Adnan Al-Shayab, Vice Dean of the Faculty, moderated the workshop, emphasizing its importance in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Dr. Al-Fayez reviewed the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship, including the definition of a startup, the importance of developing a prototype viable product (MVP), and the role of continuous evaluation and pivotal change in refining entrepreneurial ideas, ultimately leading to product-market fit. She also discussed the growth stages of startups and the various forms of support offered by incubators and accelerators.

Dr. Al-Fayez discussed the application process for the “Start at the University of Jordan” competition, explaining the opportunities for participation and support the competition offers students to transform their ideas into viable projects. She encouraged students to take the initiative and begin developing innovative entrepreneurial ideas.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism, Professor Ismail Abu Amoud, emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in preparing students capable of creativity and creating future job opportunities. He thanked the attendees and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center team for their outstanding efforts.
