The Lithic Tools Laboratory

The Lithic Tools Laboratory is one of the key laboratories for studying prehistoric materials, such as lithic and various bone tools. It serves as a research and training reference for students and researchers at the University of Jordan across different academic programs. The laboratory enables students and researchers to identify different types of tools from various time periods, learn how to measure them, and enter data into computer systems. This data is analyzed using statistical software and converted into charts, helping to advance scientific research and enhance students' abilities to study Jordan's prehistoric sites. Additionally, the laboratory is used for teaching courses related to the manufacture of lithic and bone tools, as well as other materials used by humans in their daily activities. This laboratory was established when the college moved to the new building in 2017, marking a significant enhancement to the college's resources.
