Opening of the laboratory for the maintenance and restoration of antiquities in the School of Archeology and Tourism

Within the celebrations of the University of Jordan's fiftieth anniversary and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ekhleif Tarawneh, President of the University of Jordan, Prof. Dr. Hani Al-Dmour, Vice President of Humanities Colleges and Prof. Dr. shtiwi Al-Abdullah, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, opened a laboratory for the conservation and restoration of antiquities at the School of archaeology and Tourism.

This morning on Sunday, December 16, 2012. The Dean of the College, Dr. Nizar Tarshan, received the guests and gaive a welcoming speech. The opening ceremony included some activities that illustrate the importance of the conservation and restoration laboratory of antiquities. As well as access to the work of students of the department in this field in the laboratory halls.

Dr. Ramadan Abdullah, Head of the Department of Heritage Resources Management and Conservation and Vice Dean of the College, gave a thorough explanation on the stages of establishing the laboratory, the most important objectives of the laboratory and its mission in the training of students, and the maintenance of the holdings of museums of antiquities and Culthure hirteg at the university.

Dr. Abdullah also pointed to the future aspirations of the laboratory to become a distinct unit in the rooting and roof counterfeiting of archaeological materials, as well as holding training courses in the field of archeology maintenance for specialists from outside the university. The opening was attended by a large number of faculty and administrative staff and a large group of students of the department.
